Latest Lamborghini super car will premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show
Lamborghini will deliver yet another model to live up to its high performance reputation – introducing the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse. With the car, the company aims to bring the racetrack sensation to the streets.
The Squadra Corse follows in the footsteps of the already-declared final edition of the Gallardo, the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Edizione Finale. The Squadra Corse differs by being based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo (as opposed to the Superleggera) that competes in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo.
The Squadra Corse name was derived from the newly founded Lamborghini department that manages all motorsport activities. Having been christened with such name, the Gallardo Squadra Corse closely resembles the Lamborghini racecars: V10 engine, rear wing, removable engine hood with quick-release system. The rear wing, hood, and other components are made of composite material. Carbon fiber was consistently used to provide lightweight construction giving the car a dry weight of 1340kg.
With its power transmitted to the 19-inch forged wheels, the car can launch from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach 200km/h in 10.4 seconds. Its top speed peaks at 320kph so the production-standard carbon-ceramic brake system comes in handy for a strong stopping power. The car pays tribute to its home country with a decal strip along the flank displaying the Italian colors of green, white, and red.
The Gallardo Squadra Corse is expected to premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
