Solon wants National Automotive Safety Administration created
As the Philippine automotive market continues to grow and is expected to reach 500,000 units in sales for the year 2020, Filipinos will encounter more and more motoring-related issues.
That is why a solon has proposed the creation of a government agency solely dedicated to investigating vehicle malfunctions that occur.
Congressman Winston Castelo of the 2nd District of Quezon City has authored House Bill 6307 or the ‘National Automotive Safety Administration Act of 2015.’
It stipulates the creation of the National Automotive Safety Administration (NASA) as an independent body that will scrutinize faulty motor vehicles in order to ensure the safety of motorists and commuters.
The budget needed to fulfill the proposed bill will be taken from the 2015 appropriations of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC).
