Next-generation Subaru XV leaked ahead of Geneva debut
The next generation Subaru XV was leaked ahead of its supposed debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show this March by a Japanese magazine. Subaru originally released a teaser photo of the next generation XV last January. The leaked images show the new XV to be based on the new Impreza hatchback.
Changes from the Impreza hatchback would be the addition of the usual XV styling cues such as black cladding, roof rails and under guards. A higher ride height also helps distinguish it from a standard Impreza hatchback. The leaked photos also show the car in its signature tangerine orange color as the out-going XV did. No words from Subaru yet regarding the leaked photos whether they were authentic or not.
Supposedly, the engine options available in its home market include 1.6-liter and a 2.0-liter boxer engine. The smaller engine will reportedly produce around 115 PS. The bigger engine, on the other hand could be the same engine that will be used in the 2017 Impreza, which produces 155 PS.
The 2018 Subaru XV is set for a Philippine debut in Q3. With Geneva still a month away, the leaked images give us the best idea on what to expect at the upcoming motor show.
