Updated Toyota Avanza glimpsed in leaked internal product video
Toyota is seemingly planning to shake up the compact MPV market in the near future as what appears to be the updated or next-generation Avanza was leaked ahead of its launch.
Uploaded by Youtube user Febri Ardani, the internal Toyota video of the supposedly updated Toyota Avanza features a more sophisticated front fascia along with a revised rear end. The headlights have been reshaped to give it a simpler yet more matured look. The grill on the other hand now conforms to the brand’s current design language and consists of a four-bar finish.
Also seen up front is a new hood, new front fenders and a slightly altered front bumper.
The rear taillight clusters appeared to have been carried over though the tailgate gets a slight change as it now has matching stop light trimmings and chrome décor.
Aboard, the cabin also receives an update as high-tiered models of the 7-seater MPV get a tablet-inspired infotainment system. Additionally, the seats are upholstered in brown fabric and the infotainment supports Bluetooth audio streaming.
Official engines for the new Toyota Avanza remain a mystery however. The current generation Avanza is fitted with 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter VVT-i gas engines.
There is no exact date yet when will Toyota launch the updated 7-seater MPV.
It is very likely that the next-gen Avanza will continue to share its platform with the Daihatsu Xenia.
