First local example of Lexus's first supercar

The first Lexus LFA is set to arrive in the country by the last quarter of 2011, according to Lexus Manila Inc.

Lexus's first supercar, which has a limited production run of just 500 units, has been the subject of much interest, especially with its "halo" status in the brand, 560 horsepower and carbon fiber construction.

"Some people may wonder why Lexus built a supercar," says Mr. Danny Isla, President of Lexus Manila, Inc. "Lexus imagines and dreams beyond what others find impossible. It may not be practical for many, but for those who dare dream, it is completeness."

Among its many achievements, the LFA has also recently set a new production car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife at the hands of Lexus Test Driver Akira Iida. The result, which was achieved during a performance test last August 31, 2011 and reached speeds of up to 298kmh, demonstrates Lexus' success in adapting their supercar for track-focused handling.
