Lexus' mid-sized executive sedan recieves host of updates
Lexus Manila has launched its updated ES 350 mid-sized executive sedan to the Philippine market. The company says the updated ES350 features an exciting, sportier attitude, highlighted by elegant yet progressive exterior styling, improved luxurious interior construction and safety.
For 2015, the ES350 gets a refreshed exterior, interior and updated technologies. From the outside, the new ES350 features a more aggressive spindle grill with bolder satin chrome accents. The reshaped bumper has a character line that was absent from the 2013 to mid 2015 models and has a new foglight design as well. The headlights are also new for 2015, incorporating more of the company's L-Finesse design language. The headlights are now patterened after Lexus' own compact executive sedan, the IS350. At the rear, it gets new tail light patterns that now come with a more emphasized “L” pattern, as well as new exhaust tips. The updated ES350 sits on 17 inch wheels with a new 20-spoke design.
There will be more interior combinations for the updated ES350. The seats are now offered in four different colors: Topaz Brown, Ivory, Moonstone and Black, all finished in genuine leather. The 2015 ES350 also gets a new interior trim option: matt finished Bamboo. From the driver's seat, a larger 4.2-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) color multi-information display sits in the middle of the dials. It shows vital vehicle and route statistics as well as multimedia information front and center. The Remote Touch Interface (RTI) adds enter buttons on either side of the panel. Capping off the interior changes is a new steering wheel.
Other changes include an added sound-reducing layer behind the dashboard for reduced road and engine noise. Lexus says its engineers applied structural reinforcements to increase stiffness to enhance ride quality and improve handling. The 3.5 liter V6 engine is carried over from the pre-update models. Power remains at 272 PS and 364 Nm of torque.
“Our development concept was ‘Take the ES to the next level of elegance and progressive luxury.’ The Lexus ES is renowned for its innovative exterior and interior design. We wanted to build on that and make it more elegant, and tailor the car with the latest technology Lexus has to offer. We’re confident that the new Lexus ES will be a leader in its class and attract a lot of attention,” said Toshio Asahi, Chief Engineer of the new ES350.
Prices for the 2015 Lexus ES350 starts at Php 3,568,000
