New WRX model to released in the Philippines around Q2 to Q3 of 2014
Subaru America has teased the upcoming Subaru WRX for debut at next week's 2013 Los Angeles International Auto Show. The new generation WRX according to Subaru has been engineered to give 'jaw-dropping handling' with everything from the chassis to lug nuts working in perfect synergy to give the most absolute driving experience.
"The next-generation Subaru WRX is absolutely breathtaking. I can't wait to launch it to the Philippine market," according to MotorImage Pilipinas' General Manager Mike Luyun, who had the privilege to have an advance experience with the upcoming model in Japan.
While the upcoming model will be based off a Subaru Impreza, the vehicle has been given the aggressive WRX aesthetic treatment akin to the Active Tourer Concept debuted at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. It has also been re-engineered and built to outperform all previous WRX models. Very little details were revealed, however we do know that it will be powered by a turboharged 2.0-liter boxer engine based on the 2.0-liter FA engine. It should be mated to a 6-speed manual.
While no final date has been given on its Philippine release, the local Subaru chief executive estimated arrival to be between Q2 to Q3 of 2014.
Subaru America will be streaming the launch online on their website.
