Both cars are part of the 2015 model year facelift
German automaker Porsche has recently taken the wraps off of the 2015 Porsche Cayenne and GTS models ahead of the 2014 LA Auto Show that will take place from November 19-30, 2014 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Both cars are a part of the 2015 model year facelift.
The Cayenne's front end now features more lines and edges. The right and left portion of the Cayenne also gets the new 'airblades' which channel air onto the intercooler and provides a refreshed look to the SUV. HID headlights with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) now come as standard for the entry model. The rear end gets a makeover as the taillight cluster has been revised, the tailgate handle and license plate cavity have been redesigned onto the tailgate lid and the new exhaust system is now placed at a lower section. Automatic function for the tailgate is now available as standard.
The cabin is fitted with a new multifunction sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. According to Porsche, its layout and function are based on the Porsche 918 Spyder steering wheel. The rear seats have been redesigned to provide more comfort and rear seat ventilation is now available as an option.
Under the hood is the familiar 3.6-liter V6 that generates 300 PS and is mated to the new 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox. It can go from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package and has a top speed of 230 km/h.
Interpreted by the automaker as a 'sporty model', the Cayenne GTS features a turbo nose section with large intakes and a Sport Design package which gives the SUV more contoured side sills and extended wheel arches. Contrasting the body color is a black hue that can be found on the 20-inch RS wheels, exhaust tailpipes, HID headlights' inner trim and onto the fittings of the LED rear lights. Completing it all is a GTS badging featured on the front doors.
Inside, eight-way electrically adjustable GTS sports seats are used and are covered in leather/Alcantara upholstery. Porsche extensively used Alcantara in covering the whole of the cabin. As an option, the GTS interior package is also available and comes with Carmine Red or Rhodium Silver finish, rev counter face, decorative stitching, headrest lettering and safety belts in contrasting color.
Providing power for the Cayenne GTS is also the 3.6-liter V6 but this one is fitted with twin turbos. It produces 440 PS with 600 Nm of torque and is also connected to a 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox. It will sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds or in 5.1 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package and hit a top speed of 262 km/h.
