But only between midnight and 4am

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has amended the memo preventing provincial buses from using Metro Manila roads at any time day or night.

This is a reaction to appeals from provincial bus operators and a resolution filed by Albay Gov. Joey Salceda requesting the Supreme Court to junk these restrictions put on provincial buses by the government.

Buses from Southern Luzon, Bicol and the Visayas region have been banned from moving beyond the newly installed South Station in Muntinlupa City to prevent them from adding to the vehicular traffic in Metro Manila.

After looking at the situation further, the LTFRB  has opened up a four-hour window from 12mn to 4am everyday to 236 provincial buses.  The agency found out that buses typically get in from the province after midnight and if they travel before 4am, it will not affect the early morning traffic.
