LTFRB makes premium buses permanent, calls is P2P Bus Service

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) hit 2016 running by making the implementation of the premium bus service that was launched late last year permanent in order to cope with the travel woes of Filipinos.

Initially called the Holiday Non-Stop Premium Bus Services, the Board officially named it Point-to-Point or P2P Bus Service.

“There is a need to extend the duration of the Special Permit for the Christmas Non-Stop Premium Bus Services to renamed Point-to-Point Non-Stop Bus Services so as to provide continually of service in time for the award of the Premium Point-to-Point Bus Service Applicants,” the LTFRB noted in a resolution.

Special permits are set to be issued to buses qualified to operate as a P2P Bus Service by Thursday valid until January 31, 2016.

In order to make the service accessible to all, a fare reduction has been proposed and it is as follows:

 

From SM City North EDSA/Trinoma to Glorietta 5

Standard Fare - PHP 55

Senior citizen/PWD/student fare - PHP 40

 

From Glorietta 5 to Trinoma/SM City North EDSA

Standard Fare PHP 55

Senior citizen/PWD/student fare - PHP 40

 

From SM Megamall to Glorietta 5

Standard Fare PHP 40

Senior citizen/PWD/student fare - PHP 30
