Meet PNP's upcoming police fleet
Columbian Autocar Corporation, the official distributor of Mahindra vehicles in the country, has previewed the Enforcer pickup and the Xylo AUV to the League of Municipalities of the Philippines at the Manila Hotel.
The highlight of the event was Mahindra’s police fleet composed of the customized Enforcer pickups that would be turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP) starting next month.
Mahindra President Felix Mabilog Jr. said that a total of 1,470 Enforcers amounting to PhP 1.3 billion are set to be delivered to the PNP from May to September 2015.
The company added that they will also be bringing a commercial version of the Enforcer which would be available in 4x4 or 4x2 along with a double or single cab configuration. The Enforcer is powered by a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine that delivers 101 PS at 3800 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1800 rpm. The engine is mated to five-speed manual. However, Mahindra has yet to disclose the Enforcer's retail price.
On the other hand, Mahindra has also showed the Xylo AUV which is set to rival the Toyota Innova. It comes with three different seat configurations which allow the Xylo to have a maximum of 9 occupants.
In terms of power, the Xylo is motivated by a 2.2-liter mHawk turbodiesel engine that produces 121 PS at 4000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque between 1800 to 2800 rpm. Mabilog said that the Xylo would be priced around PhP 800,000.
