City of Makati releases bulletin regarding traffic and the UVVRP
The City of Makati will not be implementing the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or the number-coding scheme starting today, Holy Wednesday April 1 until Good Friday April 3 in observance of the Holy Week and also on April 9 in celebration of Araw ng Kagitingan.
The Makati Public Safety Department (MPSD) has also released an advisory regarding the partial or full closure of several roads in order for residents to practice the traditional Holy Week ‘kubols,’ which is a gathering of the faithful to relive the passion of Christ through songs or reenactment.
20 ‘kubols’ have so far been identified by the city government.
From April 1 (Wednesday) at 10pm to April 5 (Sunday) at 5pm, J.P. Rizal Street from Reposo St. to Makati Avenue will be open to two-way traffic.
From April 1 (Wednesday) at 10pm to April 5 (Sunday) at 5pm, two lanes of the following street will be closed - Cardona (from Osmeña to J.P. Rizal), Angono (from Osmeña to J.P. Rizal), F. Zobel (from Osmeña to J.P. Rizal) and Hormiga (from Angono to Antipolo).
From April 1 to April 5, Buencamino (two lanes), Ma. Aurora (two lanes) and Zenaida (two lanes) will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The Holy Week program in Barangay Poblacion will start on Holy Wednesday and continue until Easter Sunday and will affect some streets in the area as well.

MPSD warns that some side streets may also be affected by Lenten celebrations but they are assuring the public that traffic enforcers will be deployed to assist motorists.
