Noriyuki Takakura replaces Toshio Kuwahara as boss of Honda Cars PH
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Honda’s automobile business unit, has announced Mr. Noriyuki Takakura as its new president and general manager beginning April 1, 2017. Prior to his move to HCPI, Mr. Takakura previously held his post as managing director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Honda Australia Pty., Ltd. (AUH) for four years. He has gained expertise in product planning, marketing, and sales over the 15 years of him working with Honda.
Mr. Toshio Kuwahara, who previously led HCPI, will be appointed as the new general director of Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd. (HVN), where he will be assigned with both automobile and motorcycle business units. With his extensive experience in sales, marketing, and dealer network for both Honda operations globally, working with HVN will be a great opportunity for him to further share his knowledge and skills, similar to the impact he has left in the Philippines.
For those that do not know, Mr. Kuwahara is the one responsible for bringing in some of HCPI's most popular and successful vehicles such as the BR-V, HR-V, Legend, Mobilio and most recently, the Civic Type R. As the torch is passed from Mr. Kuwahara to Mr. Takukara, expect new things from HCPI now. To Mr. Kuwahara however, may we say thank you for the legacy he has left in the Philippines.
