An anniversary like no other

The year 2011 marks a true milestone in automotive history as the 125th anniversary of the Daimler AG company. It was back in 1886 - exactly 125 years ago - that Karl Benz registered his "vehicle with gas-engine drive" under patent number 37435 with the Berlin Patent Office, a vehicle that resembles a motorized tricycle. Together with Gottlieb Daimler who, at the same time was developing the first four-wheel motor car, the two inventors laid the foundation for the modern automobile and motorized transportation that changed the world and affected virtually every aspect of daily life that we experience today

Over at Mercedes-Benz's headquarters in Stuttgart, particularly at Mercedes-Benz World, the German automaker held a grand party attended by over 1,400 guests. Mercedes also unveiled the shape of things to come with a new design sculpture that will define Mercedes design for the years ahead in the Aesthetics 125.

In line with the worldwide Mercedes-Benz anniversary celebrations, CATS Motors Inc., the exclusive distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, threw a party at the prestigious Opus lounge in Resorts World Manila for a night of drinks, music, and a celebration like no other. At the main atrium was the latest supercar from the luxury German automaker, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, for public viewing. The Philippine celebration was attended by no less than Daimler South East Asia Pte. Ltd. President and CEO Wolfgang Huppenbauer.
