AMG gives the GLA a power makeover

At the Los International Angeles Auto Show, Mercedes has revealed a compact, high-performance SUV: the Concept GLA45 AMG.

Mercedes-AMG went to work on redesigning the GLA to convey the power and muscle of the AMG brand. The AMG front apron with its large front splitter in high-gloss black, the black air deflectors together with the large cooling air intakes, serve to underline the long tradition of motorsport at Mercedes-AMG. The company also fitted the GLA45 AMG with AMG forged wheels in a cross-spoke design, painted matte black with a red rim flange, and finished off with 255/35/R21 tires.

The GLA45 AMG features an bold, distinctive design around the new Mercedes-Benz GLA. The GLA 45 comes powered by the most muscular four-cylinder engine in production: an AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with an output of 360 PS and maximum torque of 450 Newton-meters. As a result, the Concept GLA45 offers unrivalled performance in conjunction with low fuel consumption.

Acceleration from 0-60 mph (0-98 km/h) in less than five seconds demonstrates the performance of the engine and the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.
