Expands C-Class model lineup
Mercedes-Benz expands its C-Class model line up with the 2015 Estate that is bigger, sportier and more technologically advanced.
The German automaker says the 2015 C-Class Estate combines “a striking, dynamic design with outstanding adaptability” due to its sporty features, innovative technology and greater cargo volume. Furthermore, it is a vehicle that intends to accompany people who live an active lifestyle.
It continues the tradition of the C-Class Estates that embodies practicality through a spacious load compartment, technical features, efficiency and comfort.
"The new C-Class Estate is not only extremely practical thanks to its large, variable load compartment. With its state-of-the-art technical features it also stands out in its segment in regards to safety, efficiency and comfort," said Prof Dr Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development.
Mercedes-Benz says the dimensions of the 2015 C-Class Estate have grown considerably. The wheelbase of the vehicle is 2,840mm which accounts for an 80mm increase compared to the previous model. It has a length of 4,702mm (96mm longer) and a width of 1,810mm (40mm wider).
With this increase in space, the rear-seat passenger has more legroom, shoulder room, elbow room and headroom.
The 2015 C-Class Estate provides a maximum load capacity of 1,510 liters.
The automaker says the rear seats have a 40:20:40 split that opens up a wide range of possibilities to use the interior either as a five-seater, four-seater, three-seater or two-seater.
The rear-seat backrests can be unlocked and folded electronically to have an enlarged and level load compartment.
It has an ‘Easy Pack’ power liftgate and an optional ‘Hands-Free Access system that allows the tailgate to open and close when the sensor detects foot motion in the rear bumper area.
The vehicle has standard attention assist that can warn the driver of inattentiveness and drowsiness. Moreover, it also has a brake assist system, collision prevention assist, among many other safety features.
It is powered either by an advanced four-cylinder or the new small four-cylinder that delivers 117 PS to 207 PS.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz offers a diesel engine that is combined with a hybrid module. The C300 BlueTEC Hybrid with four-cylinder diesel engine and compact electric motor generates 207 + 27 PS.
