The people at Mercedes-AMG surely don't know the meaning of rest, as they have just released the photos of their next high performance model, the SL 65 AMG roadster.

As with the SLS AMG super sports car, the use of an all-aluminium bodyshell results in a drastic reduction in weight as the new SL 65 AMG is 170 kilograms lighter. New touches such as a “twin blade" radiator grille, hood vents and fender vents (such as in the SLS AMG) are just a few of the visual enhancements to the SL 65.

The new Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG is the latest V12 roadster in the line-up from the Stuttgart-based manufacturer. The AMG 6.0-liter V12 twin turbo engine develops a maximum output of 630 hp and maximum torque of 1000 newton metres. With a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS transmission, the SL 65 AMG can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds.

AMG also focused on efficiency, and the new SL 65 is 17 percent more efficient than before. An ECO start/stop function cuts the engine when stopped at the lights.
