Chevrolet Philippines gives a glimpse of the upcoming Sail sedan
The year 2016 will see the bow-tie brand debut an all-new B-segment sedan in the Philippines after The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCI), the official retailer of Chevrolet cars in the country, recently previewed the all-new Sail.
"The Chevrolet sail represents the strengths and benefits of GM's global expertise and proven engineering processes, and we are very excited to introduce it to the Filipinos. With the Chevrolet sail entering the Philippine market, we aim to fulfill every Filipino's dream of having their first car and their first Chevrolet," said Atty. Albert Arcilla, president and managing director of Chevrolet Philippines.
According to TCCI, the all-new Sail is set to make a new standard for B-segment sedans with its array of available features, technology and styling.
Beginning with its front fascia, the Sail sports the automaker's signature dual-port grill. It is then paired up with wraparound halogen headlights, sleek bumper and circular foglights. The rear, on the other hand, gets large taillights, integrated trunk spoiler, Sail badging and a muscular rear bumper. Rounding it all of is a set of multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Its interior specs have not been finalized though the company did say it will have several cabin amenities like a sunroof and wireless connectivity with the onboard infotainment system.
In terms of powertrain, the new Sail can be powered by either a 1.3-liter or 1.5-liter engine. The former is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the latter is exclusively available with a 4-speed automatic gearbox with manumatic function.
The Chevrolet Sail will soon be available in the Philippine market by June 2016.
