Mercedes-Benz Philippines all set to reveal refreshed A-Class

Auto Nation Group Inc., the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz Cars in the country, will be arriving at this year's Manila International Auto Show with the updated A-Class. Sporting several tech upgrades, subtle exterior revisions, new engine options and onboard amenities, the refreshed A-Class aims to deliver a 'sporty performance and enhanced comfort'.

“2012 was a year of paradigm change in the compact class. The new A-Class was a radical departure from the preceding series. And a successful one: as the most progressive model in the compact class, the model series has done much to make the Mercedes-Benz brand more youthful. With this model update we are now meeting the wishes of many customers for even more comfort with no loss of dynamic performance,” said Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales.

Beginning with its exterior, the A-Class' arrow-shaped front end still gets the distinct diamond star grill. Optional LED headlights are now available, along with redesigned taillights and dual exhausts.

The interior, on the other hand, gets a tubular-inspired instrument cluster and anodized switches. The frameless infotainment system now features more intuitive controls and animated menus. It can also be had with an optional 8-inch screen. Rounding it all off are new colors and materials for the dashboard. The Exclusive Package gets beige/black leather while the Style Line has a new seat design that can be specified with either red or green highlights.

Meanwhile, the A220d, A250 Sport and A250 Sport 4MATIC gets 7 PS more. The diesel model now puts out 177 PS while the top-of-the range Sport models now crank out out 218 PS.

Performance enthusiasts will be glad to know it now has Launch Control and Dynamic Select that can set the car's ride, handling and cabin characteristics. It has four driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Eco and Individual. It is standard on the following models: The A200d 4MATIC, A220 4MATIC, A220 d, A220d 4MATIC, A250 4MATIC, A250 Sport and A250 Sport 4MATIC.
