In a country-themed party at The Grove in Pasig City, MINI, under the distributorship of the British United Automobiles, launched the all new Countryman lineup; the brand's first foray into the compact crossover segment.
The Countryman is first MINI to come with four doors, a large tailgate as well as an interior that has space for up to five people. The MINI Countryman is also the first member of the MINI family with a body measuring more than four meters in length, and also the first to be made available with all wheel drive.
Powering the new Countryman range will be a selection of 1.6 liter gasoline engines that develop 122 horsepower in the MINI Cooper Countryman and 184 hp in the turbocharged MINI Cooper S Countryman.
New inside is the optional innovative MINI Center Rail with attached beverage holders, eyewear holders, armrests and "travel utensils". This option comes at the expense of one middle rear passenger of course.
The Countryman is priced at PhP 2,380,000 for the MINI Cooper Countryman, PhP 2,890,000 for the Cooper S Countryman, and PhP 3,150,000 for the Cooper S Countryman with the ALL4 all-wheel drive system.
