Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) closed the first half of the year recording sales of 30,372 units, the highest six months sales the company was able to achieve since its operation. When compared to last year’s performance, sales grew by 21 percent, helping MMPC capture 18 percent market share and keeping its position as the second automotive leader in the country.

Sales of passenger cars reached 10,083 with a 26% rise from last year's figures with the Mirage and Mirage G4 being the automaker's best-seller. Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) are also up by 16.8% with total six months sales of 19,421 units. The locally manufactured L300 and Adventure also continue Mitsubishi's sales upward momentum. Truck sales also improved selling 854 units which is 54.7% better compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, June sales reached 5,771 units which is also the highest monthly sales in history. LCV sales grew by 21 percent with total sales of 3,629 units compared to the same month last year. Trucks and Buses sales significantly improved by 50 percent versus May sales. Sales of the all new Montero Sport continue its sales upswing with a total of 1,146 units sold, a 46 percent increase. The all new Montero Sport was introduced mid-January this year and to date 4,549 units were already sold.

Mr. Froilan Dytianquin, MMPC First Vice President for Marketing, said that the company is expecting that sales will continue to rise in the coming months. “We are excited to introduce updates on some of our bestselling models and at the same time come up with more affordable financing plans and promos”, Mr. Dytianquin said. Aside from company’s extensive vehicle line-up, MMPC credits its robust sales to the stable economy, promos and several financing options making brand new car purchase a lot easier.

Following its first semester performance, MMPC is optimistic that sales will continue to surge in the coming months. Although sales have improved, MMPC will double its effort as the remaining six months of the year will be very challenging with the company’s aim to sell more than 65,000 units for the year.

MMPC is also focusing on improving and strengthening its after sales support and customer service with the commitment to provide the highest satisfaction to all its valued customers.
