Philippine made Mirage, G4 to roll out soon

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation continues their commitment to the Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy or CARS Program and has awarded 25 certificates to the local parts supply industry. In addition, the automaker is set to build the Mirage and Mirage G4 in their Santa Rosa, Laguna plant. This makes MMPC the manufacturer with the widest range of locally assembled products with four cars.

MMPC Santa Rosa Plant

Back in 2015, Mitsubishi shifted their assembly plant in Cainta, Rizal to Santa Rosa, Laguna. A year after the new plant became operational, the Department of Trade and Industry approved MMPC's application to participate in the CARS Program. Under the CARS Program, MMPC needs to produce 200,000 cars in the span of six years, all for local consumption. Afterwards, the local plant will be allowed to build cars for the export market. MMC has invested Php 4.3 billion to support the CARS Program.

With the addition of two models to be built in Santa Rosa, MMPC has started a second shift operation in preparation for the higher production output. An additional 500 assembly workers were hired for the second shift. MMPC says that additional manpower will be required when the stamping plant is operational by early 2018.
