Fuel economy run from Luzon to Mindanao

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has announced that it will conduct a fuel economy run from Luzon to Mindanao on one full tank.

Dubbed as the “Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Eco Drive Marathon: Luzon to Mindanao on One Full Tank,” MMPC intends to break the long distance fuel economy record using the Mirage G4 GLS manual and continuously variable transmission as well as the Mirage hatchback manual transmission models.

“We are putting the fuel economy of the Mirage G4 and Mirage to extreme test and we are confident that with its highly efficient 1.2-liter and 3-cylinder engine it will be able to reach 1,450 km from Ilocos Norte down to Mindanao,” said Froy Dytianquin, MMPC Vice President for Marketing Services.

MMPC says they have comissioned professional race and rally drivers such as George Ramirez, Robbie Hermoso, Louis Ramirez, George Apacible, Raul Asuncion, Steve Acayen, Barry Ortiz and Ivan Isada to drive and navigate the said fuel economy run. MMPC added that the event will be observed and supervised by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) to ensure fair and objective results.

The “Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Eco Drive Marathon: Luzon to Mindanao on One Full Tank” drive will be on December 2 and is expected to finish within a week. The fuel economy run team will take off from MMPC's dealership in Laoag, Ilocos Norte and shall take the Philippine Nautical Highway route to complete the Visayas and Mindanao legs.
