Staying on top

Not to be outdone in the class of seven-seater, pick up based SUVs, Mitsubishi recently launched the more powerful version of their best selling Montero Sport SUV equipped with a new Variable Geometry Turbo.

The current Mitsubishi Montero Sport, having been on sale since 2008, gets significant upgrades, with two new variants: the GLS V and the GTV.

Both new models come equipped with new features and a more powerful engine, thanks to a variable geometry turbing that significantly improves the drive by altering the pitch of the turbine blades for maximum power and torque (175 hp and 350 Nm, respectively), improved efficiency and much improved power delivery. The GTV variants also enjoy a new honeycomb grille design, as well as a new 5-speed automatic transmission with magnesium paddle shifters.

The 4x2 GLS V is priced at PhP 1,408,000 while the 4x4 GTV is available at PhP 1,688,000.

To commemorate the launch of this highly significant vehicle in the market, Mitsubishi invited back-to-back Paris-Dakar Rally champion Hiroshi Masuoka to take the new Montero Sport GLS V and GTV at the Clark International Speedway. Stay with us for the upcoming story from this event.
