MMDA warns against use of fake APEC stickers
Motorists who think that they can gain access to exclusive APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) lanes by using fake stickers will find themselves in a lot of trouble if they are caught by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The agency tasked to ensure the safety, security and mobility of APEC delegates has issued a stern warning against enterprising individuals who think they can get away with this high-risk stunt.
“Those who will attempt to enter will be flagged down and be considered as potential threat,” said Emmanuel Miro, MMDA’s Task Force APEC head.
To give you an idea of how stringent the measures are to ensure that only APEC delegates use these lanes, the MMDA has stationed members of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) at the entrance, along the APEC Lanes and even at the exit.
“Even vehicles with red plates and ambulances are not allowed to enter the APEC lanes,” added Miro.
