Illegally parked cars will be towed by the MMDA or HPG from November 2015 to January 2016
The holidays are upon us again, which can only mean an increase in vehicular traffic along the already congested roadways of Metro Manila.
In light of this, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, MMDA OIC Atty. Emerson Carlos and HPG Task Force EDSA Commander Police Supt. Fortunato Guerrero, recently announced that the Mabuhay/Christmas Lanes will be cleared of any obstructions starting November 1, 2015 until January 2, 2015.
Given the task of clearing the roadways are the MMDA and the PNP-HPG. They have been assigned with tow trucks and wreckers to tow and impound any illegally parked vehicles along the Mabuhay/Christmas Lanes.
Christmas lanes for this year have not yet been listed but the MMDA did release a new list of Mabuhay Lanes that can be used by motorists as alternate routes when traveling around the Metro.
On a sidenote, the government also plans on improving lane management along EDSA in order for better traffic flow for both private and public vehicles alike.
