MMDA lifts number-coding starting tomorrow, April 1

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced last week that the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number-coding scheme will be suspended started tomorrow, Holy Wednesday April 1 until Easter Monday, April 6.

This is to give motorists the opportunity to drive out of Metro Manila in celebration of the Holy Week and also to avoid the massive traffic jam that will ensue on April 2 when the DPWH begins their comprehensive reblocking effort on major roads including EDSA and C5.

The MMDA also announced the lifting of the "coding" scheme on April 9 in celebration of Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor.
