Number coding lifted for long holiday break for most of Metro Manila

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced that it will be lifting the Unified Vehicle Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number coding scheme for the long Christmas to New Year holiday break.

The MMDA stated yesterday that number coding is lifted from December 23, 2014 to January 4, 2015. The agency however may have inadvertently discounted that January 3 and 4 is a Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The City of Makati meanwhile announced today, that they will only be lifting number coding from December 24 to 26, 30 to 31, 2014 and January 1-2, 2015; these dates have declared as official public holidays. Number coding will be in effect in Makati on December 23 and 29.

The City of Las Piñas has yet to announce whether they will follow the MMDA's lead or mimic the same scheme of Makati.

UPDATE: The National Government has stepped in and lifted number coding for the WHOLE of Metro Manila.
