Part of the MMDA's bike sharing system
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has opened a new bicycle lane along Roxas Boulevard that stretches from Raja Sulayman Park to Burgos Avenue in Manila.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino led the opening ceremonies of the said bicycle lane last February 9, 2015. Tolentino said that anyone with a valid identification card could borrow a bicycle from the bike shelters located near the Raja Sulayman Park.
Under the Roxas Boulevard bike lane project, cyclists can travel from the service road northward from the Raja Sulayman Park to Burgos Avenue.
The MMDA's bicycle lane project is part of its "bike sharing system" which started last 2012.
Subsequently, the MMDA has also started its “Bayanihan sa Daan” road-sharing project that puts emphasis on the importance of road courtesy among motorists, bikers and pedestrians.
