Terminal 3 connector to be open by December
The end is near for motorists who suffer through the daily traffic caused by vehicles going in, out and around the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal areas.
Speaking to Ted Failon of ABS-CBN News, Alec Cruz, Tollway Projects Head of San Miguel Holdings Corporation, announced that the NAIA Expressway project that will connect Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 will be open on September 22, 2016.
Motorists using the NAIA Expressway will be charged Php 35 for the right to use the 2-kilometer stretch that will allow motorists from the south to bypass all the traffic along Aurora Boulevard, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, Imelda Avenue, NAIA Road, Domestic Road and Airport Road.
The NAIA Expressway will also connect motorists to the Mall of Asia, the PAGCOR Entertainment City, and the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX).
"We have three weeks to publish the toll rates. After that, we can open," said Cruz to ABS-CBN News.
According to Cruz, the Terminal 3 connection from the NAIA Expressway is near completion and is expected to be finished by December 2016.
Meanwhile, the Skyway project that connects the Buendia end of the elevated expressway to Balintawak is scheduled for a January 2019 opening.
