Land Rover debuted the 2015 Discovery Sport at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan for the U.S. market. It is the first member of the new Discovery model lineup and features Range Rover Evoque styling cues, a 5+2 seating configuration and various powertrain options.

Its body shell is constructed from a mix of high-strength steel and lightweight aluminum while a new rear axle with a multi-link suspension supports the rear. The multi-link setup enables third row seating and allows the SUV to wade waters up to 600mm high.
