Lexus played with everyone’s imagination last month, but there was very little indication that this four-door vehicle, the latest addition to brand’s high-performance line, was anything but the GS F.

Despite sharing the same platform as the GS 350 F SPORT, the GS F is more closely related to the RC F.  Under the hood will is a naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 that produces a remarkable 473 PS at 7,100 rpm and peak torque of 527 Nm at 4,800-5,600 rpm.  To maximize power and efficiency in various situations, the engine will use both Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles and will be mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with manual-shifting capabilities.

Another RC F feature found of the GS F is Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD), which offers three modes: Standard (default) provides a balance of agility and firmness; Slalom emphasizes nimble steering response and agility; and Track emphasizes control during high-speed circuit driving.

The GS F’s unibody has also been enhanced with structural reinforcements and is supported by a suspension specially designed to handle its high-performance.  Lexus engineered the GS F to deliver superb handling and smoothness whether on the highway or the racetrack.
