Ram reveals its Ford F-150 Raptor challenger
Dodge has unleashed the 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. From the looks of it, the Ram 1500 Rebel is poised to challenge the Ford F-150 Raptor performance truck.
According to Dodge, the 2015 1500 Rebel features a "one-of-a-kind off-road design" packed with unique styling cues and "can-do attitude." Up front, you can instantly notice the trucks commanding presence. It has a black mesh grill along with an off-road bumper that houses a powder-coated surface, silver skid plates and LED fog lamps. The 2015 1500 Rebel also has ventilated aluminum hood and aggressive black bezel projector headlights integrated with LED daytime running lights. Turning at the side, you can see its flat black exterior mirrors and two-tone paint scheme.
The rear of the 2015 1500 Rebel is fitted with black bezel taillights to match the truck's forward lighting. The truck also has a rear center stoplamp, a shark fin antenna and a large "RAM" lettering mounted on the tailgate. Moreover, the truck gets a dual chrome-tipped exhausts and 17-inch aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires.
Inside, Dodge says the truck have a high-durability technical vinyl seats finished in "radar red" and black with Sedoso fabric inserts. It has a black instrument panel, door armrests and center console armrest cover accented with two-tone "radar red" and light gray stitching.
The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel is powered either by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that delivers 309 PS and 364 Nm of torque or a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that generates 401 PS and 555 Nm. Both engines are connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission that can be combined to an optional four-wheel drive system.
