R-Line package provides a slightly sportier look for 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
Volkswagen recently revealed its new special R-Line package for the 2018 Atlas at this year's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
Back in October, the all-new Atlas made its official debut, resembling the CrossBlue concept with its squared-off headlights and wide grill. Now, the automaker offers a special package that will give their SE and SEL variants a slightly sportier look.
Volkswagen said that the R-Line package provides a distinct front and rear bumpers, 20-inch wheels and new side skirts. Inside, the slight changes complement its original features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 12-speaker sound system as well as its leather seats.
The new R-Line package can also be optioned with either the four- or six-cylinder engine options and either front- or all-wheel drive. The new Atlas has two engine choices: a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 240 PS and a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter VR6 engine generating 283 PS. With the package, Volkswagen offers to send its power to either the front wheels exclusively, or to all four.
The automaker said that the new R-Line Package will be available later this year.
