New York 2014 Preview: 2015 MINI Countryman revealed image

Sales in Germany begin July this year, has sold over 350,000 units worldwide

The big brother of the iconic MINI hatchback has been facelifted, according to a press release by the BMW-owned British marque.

The Countryman – the first model in the MINI range with five doors, five seats and optional all-wheel drive – has been given updates to the exterior and to the engines.

Changes include a redesigned hexagonal grille, light-emitting diode (LED) fog lights, standard underbody cladding all around (optional for non-MINI ALL4 models, not available for the John Cooper Works variant), new alloy wheels and new colors (Jungle Green metallic, Midnight Grey metallic and Starlight Blue metallic).

Meanwhile, the engines have been upgraded EU6 emission standards, with the 1.6-liter turbocharged, direct-injection, four-cylinder engine in the S model gaining 10 PS to 190 PS.

The company said sales of the updated Countryman will start on July 2014 in Germany.
