Nakamura was awarded during the International Automobile Festival in Paris
Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.'s Senior Vice President for Design and Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura won the "Grand Prix du Design" last January 27, 2015 during the International Automobile Festival in Paris.
According to Nissan, Nakamura received the said award in recognition of his "illustrious" career in automotive design that has spanned for decades. On the other hand, Nakamura expressed that he's grateful for receiving the prestigious "Grand Prix du Design" award.
"I am very grateful to the jury for selecting me for this prestigious honour, but really this award should be given to my entire global design team. I feel I am receiving it on their behalf. I am very proud of my team and their achievements, which reflects their dedication and passion for outstanding automotive design," Nakamura said.
Nissan added that Nakamura was selected by a jury comprised of leading lights from the worlds of French media, commerce and design.
