A glimpse of the future

Nissan revealed the full scale model of the 2020 Vision Gran Turismo at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Nissan 2020 Vision GT was created for the Gran Turismo 6 PlayStation 3 game. It draws inspiration from the GT-R supercar and has a relatively futuristic design. With this, the 2020 Vision GT gives us a glimpse of what future Nissan models may look like.

Nissan said in a press release that car enthusiasts and people from the media are calling the concept as "the next generation of Nissan performance vehicle."

The Nissan 2020 Vision GT is a product of a young team at Nissan Design Europe, led by Design Director Taisuke Nakamura. The design team collaborated with engineers in Japan to be able to create a vehicle that reflects the potential of its virtual performance.

"People are quite enthusiastic to race a car in a virtual environment. It’s a new styling challenge without any constraints, boundaries, so it was a purely design challenge from our side to see how much we can go further to achieve an attractive design. It’s like a virtual motor show to me," said Nakamura.

The Nissan 2020 Vision GT will be roaring its virtual engine when it becomes available for download in July.
