NLEX and SCTEX creates pass-thru lanes for Undas 2015

Motorists headed north for Holy Week 2015 should brace themselves for traffic congestion on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) as its operator Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) expects an 11% increase on vehicular volume the NLEX and about 15% increase on the SCTEX.

In light of this, management has devised a plan to lessen the stress and congestion at the toll plazas of Dau and SCTEX Mabalacat.

Express exits on the northbound lane of the NLEX will be opened up at the Dau Interchange on April 1, Holy Wednesday 2PM until April 2, Maundy Thursday at 4PM.  Motorists northbound and also the ones with Easytag and Easytrip may use this lane to pass straight through and then settle their combined (NLEX and SCTEX) fees at the SCTEX Mabalacat Entry Toll Plaza.

The same scheme will be implemented after the Holy Week along the southbound of NLEX and SCTEX to alleviate the traffic condition as motorists head back to the city.

The MNTC has also put in place its ‘Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko’ program to assist motorists who encounter vehicular and minor health issues along the way.
