Suzuki's new contender for the compact crossover segment

Suzuki revealed its new c-segment crossover concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show marking the brand's full-scale entry into the market segment. The design of the S-Cross is based on four pillars: Emotion, Quality, Aerodynamics, and Toughness. Suzuki promises the S-Cross to carry the on-road handling characteristics of its passenger vehicles like the Swift, SX4 and Kizashi.

The S-Cross will ride on a new unibody platform as it rides on a 2600mm wheelbase 100mm shorter than that of the Kizashi and 100mm longer than the SX4. The vehicle measures in at 4310mm long, 1840mm wide and 1600mm high. No details have been given on what engine will be fitted for the S-Cross, but it would most likely be powered by a 2.0-liter engine like its rivals. Suzuki did reveal the dimensions for its upcoming model. The S-Cross is set to compete with the likes of the Mazda CX5, Mitsubishi ASX, and Subaru XV in the increasingly competitive market for compact crossovers.
