Rejuvenating the family car market

Toyota revealed their latest C-segment model at the 2012 Paris International Motor Show, the new Toyota Auris, it is a model that has a stronger and more appealing styling and better dynamic performance that's suited for the European market.

Auris' all-new exterior design maximises the benefits of the car's lower height and center of gravity. Its overall length has been increased by 30mm to 4,275, while the wheelbase remains the same at 2,600mm. Although both front and rear overhangs have been increased by 15mm, it remains one of the most compact cars in its class.

The Auris will be offered with three engine choices with corresponding suspension system based on them. The 1.33-liter Dual VVT-i petrol engine and  1.4-liter D-4D diesel engine  models use a torsion beam rear suspension, while the 1.6-liter Valvematic petrol and 1.8-liter Hybrid models use a double wishbone arrangement.

An wagon body style version called the Auris Touring Sports was also unveiled and is 285mm longer than the five-door hatchback for an increased luggage space.

It will be built by Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK at the Burnaston factory in Derbyshire, alongside Avensis and will be available in 10 exterior colors, with four new shades: Avant-Garde Bronze, Dark Steel and Blue. Pearl White will be exclusive the new Auris Hybrid.
