Most powerful Peugeot production vehicle with 260hp
The Peugeot RCZ R is finally making its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. The RCZ R is powered by a 1.6-liter THP engine which produces 260hp, currently the most powerful production model in Peugeot’s history. It boasts of being of the most efficient production vehicles at over 160bhp/liter of displacement with CO2 emissions targeted at just 155g/km.
The RCZ R Concept previewed the evolution at the Paris and Geneva Motor Shows – shown with a matt black and copper livery that heralds the spiritual stance of a road-going RCZ R.
Peugeot’s racing experience has played a big part in the development of the RCZ R, it features a bespoke suspension set-up, an exclusive wheel design, and a Torsen LSD (limited-slip differential).
Peugeot will be bringing two red RCZ Rs to Goodwood, one to be displayed on the Peugeot stand and another shown performing dynamically during the Festival of Speed weekend, driven by the UK Peugeot 208 GTi Ambassador, Bradley Philpot - a finalist in the recent Nürburgring 24-hour race that saw three Peugeot 208 GTi cars win their SP2T class.
The timely reveal ahead of its launch at the end of the year concides with the 20th anniversary of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, while the public opening of the Festival on 12th July, is the very same date 100 years ago that Peugeot won the French Grand Prix, coming first and second.
