The Nissan Juke is as real as it gets
Universal Motors Corporation, distributor of Nissan commercial vehicles in the Philippines highlighted their display at the 2012 Philippine International Motor Show with the popular Juke crossover.
We already received reports as early as last year about the planned release of the compact crossover in (UMC) our market as early as last year. But the release was delayed due to internal reorganization of the company.
However present, there is still no final date as to when the Juke will be released and how much it will be selling for. UMC’s official statement is as far as this goes: “We see the motorshow as the perfect opportunity to get the sentiments of the vehicle buying public before we go to full-scale selling,” said Ms. Honeymae A. Limjap, Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Sales.
When we tried to question further, Limjap said that the release would be very soon. The units will come from Japan, where it is being produced at Nissan's Oppama plant. It was initially rumored that units might come from Purwakarta, Indonesia to benefit from the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement; but the plant is only tooled to produce right-hand drive units.
Universal Motors Corporation also announced their newly launched website at the motor show. It features a more interactive interface and closely follows Nissan's new corporate identity. UMC is also touting their new virtual 360-degree interior view of their vehicle models in the new site. The new UMC website can be accesses through www.nissanphilippines.com.ph.
