It will make use of Renault/Nissan platform
Nissan Philippines recently revealed that they will bring in the 2014 X-Trail for the 5th Philippine International Motor Show that is booked on September 18-21, 2014.
The crossover SUV was first revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and uses the Nissan/Renault Common Module Family (CMF) architecture. It now has a sleek exterior design that is synonymous to other crossovers. Inside, a panoramic sunroof decorates the headlining while those that get the higher variants will have a full leather interior with contrast stitching. Moreover, it can now seat 7 people.
Nissan has not detailed any engine specifications but it does run on the company's ALL MODE 4x4 AWD system that can be controlled via a rotary switch on the center console. A nifty feature of the system is that it can distribute torque between the front and rear axles, depending on the needs of the driver. It also has Active Ride Control (ARC) and Active Engine Brake (AEB). The ACR adjusts the damping of the car while the AEB controls the power of the the transmission, providing engine braking while decelerating to a standstill or cornering.
