Honda debuts 7-seater mini crossover at 6th Philippine International Motor Show

Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has just held the launch of their new crossover at this year's Philippine International Motor Show: the 2017 Honda BR-V.

The new Honda BR-V is a seven-seat crossover designed to cater to emerging markets in Asia. First launched at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo, the BR-V was branded as an 'Active Sport Crossover' featuring high-ground clearance together with a unique front and rear design.

The 2017 BR-V measures 4456mm long, 1735mm wide and 1665mm tall with a wheelbase of 2662mm. Honda also says the BR-V has 201mm of ground clearance to help ensure confident driving even in tricky conditions. The BR-V crossover rides on the platform of the Mobilio, Honda's other Asian seven-seater in compact MPV form.

The BR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 117 PS at 6,000 rpm and 146 Nm of torque. It is then paired to an Earth Dreams developed continuously variable transmission which drives the front wheels.

Honda says the BR-V comes with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, Hill Start Assist, stability control, and speed sensing door locks. Additionally, the top variant has Paddle Shifters to feed a sportier driving feel and performance.
