Yesterday's bus crash left 4 dead and many injured
The driver of the crashed Valsino Express bus was arrested yesterday, 4 p.m, after the driver's father pointed authorites where his son was hiding. The driver, George Pacis, fled the scene yesterday after crashing the bus into an arch which left four people dead and many more injured.
In yesterday's arrest, the investigators pretended to be representatives of Valisno Express. The authorites then nabbed Pacis and brought him to the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) office in QCPD Station 10. Pacis underwent a medico-legal examination and drug testing and, after making his statement, was brought to Traffic Sector 2 for his detainment.
Pacis faces three charges which includes reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property. He could also be held liable for abandoning the crash victims.
A representative from Valisno Express said the company will be shouldering the hospital bills of the injured and burial assistance to the families of those who were killed. The blus line adds that wil will also extend cash aid to the passengers who rode the particular bus that day.
The LTFRB has confiscated the plates of the Valisno Express fleet which consists of 62 buses. The LTO on the other hand will be conducting a road-worthiness inspection on the fleet. The Valisno Express drivers will have to undergo a road safety seminar, a drug test and secure police and NBI clearances.
