No accidents or injuries reported related to the recall
Porsche AG has issued a voluntary safety recall to replace the lock bracket on the hood of 4,428 of their sportscars worldwide.
The automaker says the affected vehicles are limited to 2014 and 2015 911, Boxster and Cayman. The issue was discovered during the routine in-house quality checks.
Porsche concluded that while the affected vehicles pass all current strength requirements, they determined that these specific parts might not meet their own quality standards.
Owners will be notified within 60 days and asked to make an appointment as soon as possible with their authorized Porsche dealer to replace the lock bracket on the front hood.
Porsche confirmed that there were no incidents, accidents, or injuries reported related to the said recall.
