First of two partsAny motor show is a golden opportunity for car manufacturers to show the public what they have in the market or how they are going to change the market. At the upcoming 3rd Philippine International Motorshow, local car manufacturers and distributors will be doing just that. With the theme Drive the Green Road, manufacturers are gearing up to showcase their green concepts and technologies to the Philippine motoring public.
Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. will be at the PIMS, and will be displaying a range of vehicles, from the little i10 to the new Tucson and the the extra large Hyundai Starex. The brand will also be presenting their latest addition to the executive car segment in the new Sonata, but will also have the futuristic Hyundai ix-Metro concept car on display.
The Sonata itself has been on sale at Hyundai dealers with much success, but the ix-Metro is a futuristic concept car with a range of eco technologies, meant to show what Hyundai will have up their sleeves in the years to come.
Chevrolet will be well represented by their exclusive distributor, The Covenant Car Company Inc, as they display their "new face", as well as bring in the all-new Chevrolet Spark to join up with the rest of the Chevy lineup. The Cruze will also be on hand, as well as the Camaro muscle car and the Suburban SUV.
Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. is set to launch the latest addition to its vehicle line-up with their new executive sedan, the Teana. This is the third new vehicle launched by NMPI in 2010, following the launch of the all-new Nissan X-Trail CVT and Nissan Sentra 200 earlier this year, and marking the next step in the company's expansion into this fast growing market.
On the other hand, Suzuki Philippines will be showcasing the Kizashi Sports concept car, the shape of things to come for the Japanese automaker. The production model is already available abroad, and Suzuki Philippines will be bringing this particular model in the coming years.
The rest of Suzuki's line up will also be on display, including the Suzuki Celerio, Swift, APV Type 2 and their newly-launched SX4 Aero and SX4 Crossover models.
Swedish carmaker Volvo and their exclusive distributor, Viking Cars Inc., are also getting ready to take the wraps off the all new S60, featuring a long list of pioneering technology in automobile safety.
The S60 is now on its 2nd generation, and serves as the flagship of Volvo's new Pedestrian Safety technology, a further improvement of the City Safety system that we previously saw in the XC60 crossover SUV.
