Apple highly invested in more in-car technology
Amid rumors a few months ago about a certain ‘Project Titan’ that’s in the works and news about the launch of CarPlay in the latest models from Hyundai and Chevrolet, a senior Apple executive has stated that automobiles are on the radar as far as the company’s plans are concerned.
"The car is the ultimate mobile device, isn't it? We explore all kinds of categories. We'll certainly continue to look at those, and evaluate where we can make a huge difference," said Apple Senior Vice President of Operations Jeff Williams.
Project Titan has neither been confirmed nor denied by Apple but reports from various fronts have been coming in regarding highly discreet moves being made including the attempt to poach auto execs and engineers with the offer of a quarter of a million dollars in bonuses and more than double the pay raise.
For now, the only thing auto-related from Apple is CarPlay but it would not be beyond them to surprise the consumers in the future with an electric car that runs on iOS.
