LTFRB suspends the bus line for 30 days
The Land Transporation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) recently suspended the 18 buses of Dimple Star Transport for 30 days after one of its vehicles was involved in an accident last October 30, 2014.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, the Dimple Star bus with plate number TYS 454 slammed into a 10-wheeler truck along the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway in Lipa City, Batangas which resulted in the death of 2 individuals and left 49 others injured. One of those that perished was the conductor of the bus.
LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez stated that they have always reminded bus operators and bus drivers to avoid driving recklessly in order to prevent accidents. Ginez added that the LTFRB will not tolerate such behavior.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has been given the task of checking all of the buses of Dimple Star that take the Manila-San Jose, Mindoro Occidental route to determine their road-worthiness. The bus line's drivers will also attend the LTFRB's road safety seminar.
A case hearing has already been filed for November 19, 2014.
