Mazda to arrive with something new at 2016 New York Auto Show

Mazda has confirmed that they will be arriving at the 2016 New York International Auto Show with 'something new'. The company did not state what will they be revealing though they did threw some hints as to what it might be.

The automaker already sent out invites to several media outlets and AutoCar UK posted an image about it. With the caption 'Help us blow the lid off', it could be speculated that it might be the MX-5 Coupe that Mazda will be bringing to the annual auto show.

Nothing is certain yet but the previous generation MX-5 had a metal folding roof as an option. During last year's Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Mazda revealed the Spyder Concept (shown above) which is their take on a classic roadster. It is finished in Mercury Silver and has a bikini top developed by American Sunroof Corporation. The concept could become the basis for the rumored MX-5 with a power retractable hard top similar to the 3rd generation NC.

We'll find out soon enough when the 2016 New York International Auto Show commences on March 25, 2016.
